How to unblock messages on your iPhone

1. Open the Settings app.

2. Tap "Phone."

3. Tap "Call Blocking & Identification." You should see a list of all the phone numbers you've blocked on your iPhone.

4. Swipe a number you want to unblock to the left and then tap "Unblock."

You can unblock numbers from the Settings app.

This number will now be unblocked for voice, FaceTime, and messages, so you'll start receiving messages again.

You can get to the same list of blocked numbers going to Messages page in Settings and tapping "Blocked."

How to filter messages from people you don't know on your iPhone

If you get a lot of iMessages from people who aren't in your contacts list, and don't want them cluttering your list of texts, you can sort them into their own tab in the Messages app. This makes it easier to manage messages without needing to block unknown senders. To turn on this filtering:

1. Start the Settings app.

2. Tap "Messages."

3. Turn on Filter Unknown Senders by swiping the button to the right.

You can filter unknown senders into their own tab in the Messages app.

Now you should see two tabs at the top of your Messages app — one for everyone in your contacts list and SMS messages, and the other for iMessages from unknown senders.

Once you turn on "Filter Unknown Senders," your Messages inbox will be split into two sections.
